It’s that time again. The time at the end of the year where everyone’s benefit’s package changes and renews. Part of the process includes making sure that all of those hard earned contributions into our Flexible Spending Accounts, (FSA) aren’t lost with the change of the calendar year.
As we get into the swing of the holiday season, now’s the time to add an important task to the list of things to do in December and that is to SET UP THAT DENTAL APPOINTMENT! If your not thinking that it’s a priority, ask yourself this:
Does Your Smile Make You Happy?
If the answer is no, then why not take this opportunity to set that appointment with our office and use those FSA funds before you no longer can. One good reason for doing so is according to IRS Document 502 (2014), FSA funds can be used to “…pay for the prevention and alleviation of dental disease.” Some of the other procedures the 502 cover are the services of a dental hygienist or dentist for such procedures as teeth cleaning, sealant applications, fluoride treatments and tooth decay prevention. Some of the additional coverage includes treatment to alleviate dental disease including the service of a dentist for xrays, fillings, braces, extractions and dentures.
The bottom line when it comes to utilizing your FSA for you dental health is simple. “USE IT OR LOSE IT”. Not only does this apply to your FSA savings, but it could also very well apply to your smile as well!
