Thank your dental hygienist
Dr. Stanley Burba loves dental hygienists so much, he’s married to his favorite—Janet.
Your hygienist is an essential member of your oral health team. They work with the dentist to ensure your teeth are properly cleaned, examine your mouth for diseases, take and develop your x-rays, and provide tips and tricks for your preventative care.
Have you seen our amazing hygiene team–Janet, Corinne, Katie, or Siobhan–recently? We’re showing our hygienist team some love. Post a comment on our Facebook page with a thank you message to your hygienist—we’ll make sure she gets it!
October is National Dental Hygiene Month
This month, the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company are teaming up to present National Dental Hygiene Month, a campaign increasing the public’s awareness of maintaining good oral health.
This year the campaign’s focus is on the four components of good oral health maintenance including:
Two minutes. Twice a day. With a soft bristled toothbrush.
Not sure if you’re brushing long enough? Turn the radio on, turn the radio up. Any song will do. Just brush from start to finish.
Flossing is the single most important factor in preventing gum disease. There. We said it.
Guide the floss between your teeth using a zigzag pattern. Floss up and down against the tooth and under it. Always use a clean section of floss.
Rinse each day with an anti-microbial mouthwash that carries the ADA Seal of Acceptance.
Chew sugar-free gum after eating. This helps create saliva that neutralizes acid and prevents cavities. And, of course, freshens your breath!
If you haven’t seen our amazing hygienist team lately, now’s the time. Request your appointment at burbadental.com.
