Dr. Kayla Vasconcellos was born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts. She earned her bachelor of science degree in biology with a minor in graphic design from Emmanuel College, where she was the first in her family to graduate college. While studying for her bachelor’s degree, Dr. Kayla researched biomaterials, and the research has been published and presented at national conferences.
Dr. Kayla started her dental career as a dental assistant and administrator for several years before attending Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated summa cum laude. In recognition of her outstanding academic achievement, Dr. Kayla was awarded the Jack Frommer Award for Excellence in Anatomical Sciences and was inducted into the dental honor society. While at Tufts, Dr. Kayla acted as a teaching assistant for operative dentistry and the class social chair, sharing her love of the Boston area by planning special events for her classmates.
After graduation, Dr. Kayla received advanced training at her general practice residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell in Manhattan, where she became proficient in managing medically complex patients and facial trauma. Additionally, she completed a rotation at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she received training in the dental treatment of oncology patients. Following her residency, she returned home to Massachusetts to private practice.
Dr. Kayla is passionate about helping patients feel empowered to control their oral health. She loves helping nervous patients get their smiles back. When she is not treating patients, you can usually find Dr. Kayla rereading Harry Potter, listening to podcasts, or chasing her sweet rescue puppy, Tala.
